This is a picture of Jupiter made with a powerful telescope. What Galileo was looking at were points of light. Wouldn't he have loved to see this !!!!!!!

I'd prefer to think Galileo had imagined a similar image... He was a genius, he invented many tools and, most important, the "scientific method" still used nowaday.
So, he probably imagined that shape and colours...
