| DARE TO BE DIFFERENT |

"By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith." Hebrews 11.7
One of our favorite Bible heroes dared to be different. He wasn't afraid to stand out in the crowd. He cared far more what God thought about him than what the people around him were thinking. He was obedient to the Lord even when – literally – everyone else was corrupt.
With a broken heart, the Heavenly Father decided to destroy the world and all the depraved human beings who lived in it, except for one man of integrity and excellence. "Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God" (Genesis 6:9). Only Noah.
How about you? Even if you were the only person on earth who believed in Jesus Christ as Savior, would you still follow Him? How about if you were the only one in your school? Or the only person at your office?
Perhaps you know how Noah felt. Maybe you are the only Christian in your family, at work, or at your school. Do your friends make fun of you because of what you believe? Let me encourage you to do what Noah did. He stayed focused on his purpose, and refused to listen to those who would dissuade him. Because of his faithfulness he and his family were spared. Because of your faithfulness, God will pour his blessing out on you!
A Prayer for Today
God, I will stand strong and won't let others influence me to do the wrong thing, and live the wrong way. Like Noah, I will remain faithful to You. I will dare to be different-at home, at work, at school, at play. In Jesus' name, Amen. | |
